Things to do for Easter in Orlando

Easter is quickly approaching, falling this year on April 9. Easter is a time to celebrate, to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made for humanity, and to focus on following his example of love, compassion, and service to others.

Many choose to celebrate Easter by attending church services and sharing meals with family and friends. It is also a time to engage in acts of charity and kindness.

With its beautiful weather, abundance of attractions, and welcoming community, there's no shortage of activities to make your Easter memorable in Orlando. Here are some ways to celebrate Easter in the Orlando area:

Easter Activities for the Family

Attend an Easter Sunrise Service: Many churches in the Orlando area host Easter Sunrise Services, which are a beautiful way to celebrate the holiday. You can attend services at local churches, or head to a nearby beach for a sunrise service on the sand. Some popular locations for Easter sunrise services include Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, and New Smyrna Beach.

Visit the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens: If you're looking for a more nature-focused way to celebrate Easter, the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is the perfect destination. On April 1, the zoo will host an annual Hippity Hop Adventure, which includes a scavenger hunt, bounce houses, and photos with the Easter Bunny. Plus, you can explore the beautiful gardens and see all of the animals that call the zoo home.

Have an Easter Brunch: Orlando has no shortage of amazing restaurants, and many of them offer special Easter brunch menus. Some popular brunch spots in the area include The Ravenous Pig, Hash House a Go Go, and The Boheme.

Visit Walt Disney World Resort: One of the most iconic places to visit in Orlando is the Walt Disney World Resort. During Easter, the resort has plenty of activities for the whole family, such as Easter egg hunts, character meet-and-greets, and special Easter-themed parades. Plus, you can enjoy the springtime scenery and decorations throughout the parks.

Easter Activities for Kids

Attend the Easter Bunny Garden Experience: Held at ICON Park, the Easter Bunny Garden Experience runs through April 16. Visitors can purchase candid spring photo packages, and children will receive a souvenir button after visiting the Easter Bunny that is good for a free ride on The Wheel.

Visit SEA LIFE’s Egg-Stravaganza: From April 7-30, guests can visit SEA LIFE to participate in a scavenger hunt to find golden eggs hidden around the aquarium.

Participate in the Magic 107.7 Easter Egg Hunt: Families can enjoy an easter egg hunt at the Downtown Historic Longwood on Saturday, April 8. The hunts will be divided into different age groups, with the first hunt, for 2-year-olds, beginning at 9:45am. Don’t miss The Bunny Breakfast, which will include a visit with the Easter Bunny and a breakfast of sausage patties and pancakes.

Whether you prefer theme parks, nature, or delicious food, there's something for everyone to celebrate the Easter season. Gather your loved ones, put on your best pastel colors, and have a wonderful Easter in Orlando!
