Here are some of the ways our clients experience healing in therapy:
-
Each of our clients may experience anxiety differently. But whether your anxiety is manifesting itself in sleeplessness, panic attacks, or something else, we can help. We can educate and empower you so that you can manage the symptoms of anxiety.
-
It might be hard to remember the last time you felt truly calm or at peace. A therapist will work with you to find techniques and coping skills that will help to bring about that peace.
-
Our brains are wonderful creations, but sometimes they get us into trouble as well. Without even realizing it, we can sometimes slip into ways of thinking that are unhelpful, irrational, or even destructive. A counselor can help you identify these patterns, challenge your thoughts, and help you think in healthier and more constructive ways.
-
Sometimes anxiety itself is a symptom of deeper issues. If you have experienced a painful or traumatic event in your past, this could be causing anxiety and other symptoms today. Our therapists can provide a safe space for you to experience healing from past traumas.
Through counseling for anxiety, you will...
Create balance in life
Set boundaries around your time, energy, relationships

Frequently asked questions about anxiety counseling
-
Stress is something that each of us experiences at various points throughout life. Stress is typically a short-term emotional response to an identified situation or trigger. Once the object of stress is resolved, the stress is released and someone can feel calm again. There is some overlap between the symptoms of stress and anxiety. However, anxiety is typically more long-term. It can be a person’s felt reaction to stress. The feelings of anxiety may linger and there may not be an identified cause. Anxiety is an internal experience that can be difficult to shift.
-
Counseling for anxiety is greatly beneficial. You will learn your brain and body’s signals, understand what the anxiety is trying to communicate to you, identify thought patterns that are unhelpful and learn how to change them, and create a toolbox of ways to reduce anxiety in the moment. You will also determine the source of the anxiety so that you can heal from it and experience a reduction in symptoms. You will then be free to live a life consistent with your goals, values, and priorities.
-
The length of time for anxiety counseling depends on the type of anxiety present (whether it is social anxiety, generalized anxiety, specific phobias, anxiety stemming from trauma, etc.) and the specific goals you are seeking to accomplish during counseling. Together with your therapist, you will identify the source of your anxiety, what you desire to gain from therapy, and work toward an agreed upon plan.
