    About Brenda Stewart

Hello! I am glad you are here! My name is Brenda and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with experience in individual, family, and group therapy. I have worked in a variety of settings including residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient clinics. I strive to provide a warm, safe, and supportive environment so that  you will feel comfortable and secure. Through our work together, I will assist you in challenging your internal messages, help you learn effective coping skills, and aid the processing of painful memories that keep you from reaching your goals and living a life of freedom.  I desire to help you rediscover your strengths and worth following trauma.

As the founder of Wellspring Therapy Associates, a faith based clinically sound and ethical practice, I specialize in working with adolescent and adult clients overcoming sexual trauma, sexual abuse, other forms of single incident or complex trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and various life challenges.

Additionally, I am trained in evidenced-based treatments including EMDR and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Throughout the therapy process, I also utilize elements from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and work from an attachment based framework. I incorporate mind-body connection work as I counsel from a holistic perspective, attending to the emotional, mental, spiritual, physical, and relational aspects of a person.

When not at work, I love spending time with family and friends enjoying the outdoors. I am an avid reader, a lover of music and dance, a Boston Terrier fanatic, and enjoy being active in nature.
